Covered California sent the following notice to certified agents this week. For those individual clients who are pursuing coverage through the Covered California marketplace, we recommend waiting until Monday, November 25. Keep your fingers crossed for upgraded functionality and bug fixes after this weekend.
The Covered California state health insurance website, https://www.coveredca.com/ will be offline beginning late Friday, November 22 until early Monday, November 25, 2013 to undergo its first scheduled upgrade. On Monday, November 25, when the site is restored, CoveredCA.com will allow self-service quoting and online enrollment for small business and a further streamlined experience for the individual consumer.
Although the enrollment portal will be offline for two days while the improvements are installed, the information pages on the website including the Shop and Compare Tool for individuals, will remain available. Certified agents may also continue to submit paper applications during this downtime to continue to assist clients with enrollment.Covered California previously anticipated installing the upgrades Nov. 16 through Nov. 19 but delayed that for a week to allow for more strenuous testing of functionality.
Covered California’s service centers will be open and taking calls to assist with any questions that are not directly related to the system.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we continue to improve and update our web site.
